Each month the National Association for Catering and Events or as most of us knows it as NACE meet and get together to network with other professionals in the industry. We look forward to these meetings as they give us a chance to mix and mingle while sharing all about P.O.S.H.
The August meeting held at the Rosewood Crescent Hotel was definitely a fun meeting. The tables were adorned with P.O.S.H. chargers, china, flatware and glassware and all designed to the nines. With almost a rustic mystical feeling the florals and centerpieces created by Dr. Delphinium were the perfect finishing touch. Based around the concept of etiquette we thought we would share a few of our favorite etiquette tips.
A few nice words will go a long way. Don’t forget your social graces and a few magic words that will give a positive outlook to a conversation.
Please, Thank you and Your Welcome
Excuse Me and I’m Sorry
Always send a hand written note or thank you. With technology basically taking over our social lives, taking the time to write a hand written note to thank someone will give you extra points. Whether it’s for a gift that someone gave you, after an interview, or just because; take the time to hand write it.
Brush up on your table manners. It is essential to practice good manners when it comes to meals and that means knowing how to set the table and act around the table. Remember, elbows off the table and eat with your mouth closed. Visit Emily Post’s guide for more tips here.
Etiquette Principles. There are three important social graces that Emily Post suggests on the guides for living. Respect. Consideration. Honesty.
