Even though Cinco de Mayo falls on a Monday this year we still feel it’s one of the those holidays that deserves to be celebrated the weekend before! This holiday which celebrates Mexican heritage and pride seems to take over the city of Dallas with festivities and enough margaritas for all to go around. We especially love the idea of creating a festive tabletop that incorporates all the bright and bold colors that make us think of Mexico! These bright color schemes are not just reserved for a celebration like Cinco de Mayo though, they are perfect for any celebration during the summer months, which are quickly approaching.
Inspired by bright florals, this table designed by Deanie Michelle Events and Lush Couture Floral incorporates everything we would imagine a Mexican Themed table should. The Orange Acrylic Scalloped Charger and the Blue + White China pattern are a bold take on color, yet compliment the vibrant cultural feel that we are trying to embody. This table is easily transitional into spring and summer and can either be glammed up or toned down depending on the direction of your event! View full description of image here.

Another added, the Scalloped Chargers can be mixed and matched throughout the table with other colors such as Fuchsia, Lime, and Turquoise for extra boldness with the color scheme!
No Mexican themed event is complete without tequila and more specifically margaritas! We really love this recipe in particular because it is a homemade blend instead of a pre-mixed and ultra sugary option. Forget that store bought stuff and try your hand at this homemade margarita courtesy of The Glitter Guide!
Makes 1 serving. This recipe easily doubles, triples etc. for a pitcher.
INGREDIENTS & RECIPE
1.5 parts tequila
1.5 parts triple sec (It’s worth springing for Cointreau)
1 part FRESH lime juice
Splash of FRESH orange juice
Splash of club soda
Agave syrup (as desired)
Fine salt
Prep your glasses by slicing a lime and rubbing it on the edge. Dip edge in salt and let dry. Mix tequila, triple sec and lime juice with ice in a shaker. Pour over ice in glasses. Add a splash of fresh O.J and club soda. If you like a sweeter margarita add a bit of agave syrup to taste. Garnish with a lime. Cheers!
Don’t forget the decorations and party favors! These cute mini Patron bottles with a straw are perfect to hand out to guests as they arrive and equally better are the limes with mini tacos on top for a quick snack. For decorations use authentic banners and create paper flowers in all sorts of colors to get an added effect and colorful atmosphere.
