Color Trend: Cinnamon Slate

Mature, studied, meticulously set–a cinnamon place setting is all the rage for the upcoming seasons.

Benjamin Moore announces Cinnamon Slate as their 2025 Color of the Year. The can’t-quite-be-defined purple-brown shade is said to conjure balance and reassurance in the home. To meet this trend for both residential and wedding clients, we turned to a recent source of inspiration–a stylish wedding reception designed by Alice and Apricot.

ALLURING ELEGANCE

Call it understated elegance or quiet sophistication, but any which way you spin it, there is not a more alluring balance of rich, seasonal browns and reds than the idea of Cinnamon. Benjamin Moore is known for cultivating stylish interior color schemes, and our industry is heavily influenced by home and fashion trends. So when we saw this color trend pop up in Veranda Magazine, we knew we’d see a hint of this restorative shade by way of our stylish clients.

Enter Alice and Apricot, a unique full-service wedding planning firm based in Texas that focuses on one-of-a-kind experiences. Their niche clients love to break the rules and mix up textures and tones no one else would think to use. We love the concepts they’ve created, and this brown and red cinnamon-inspired wedding reception was ahead of the trends. We love the stylish mix of classic patterns in a freshly nuanced color scheme. Learn more about these creative champions on the Alice and Apricots website.

QUIET SOPHISTICATION

Cinnamon Slate is a shade for the bride in full bloom. She knows exactly what she wants, and it is not an all-white wedding. Alice and Apricot were serious about styling this fun color scheme with a rich blend of Autumn browns and dark reds, featuring hints of cinnabar, vermillion, and sepia tones. Building off of modern suede textures and linens, classic china patterns from Noritake, Ginori, and Mottahedeh created a new classic for the modern couple looking for something a bit different.

Now trends come and go, but something about the sophistication of this color palette tells us Cinnamon shades have a soft staying power. Transfer this inspiration to your tabletop by leaning into the mahogany season by way of velvet textures, Smoke Glassware, and romantic reds and browns.
