COMFORT + COMMUNITY: SPRING 2020 WEDDING TRENDS

DID IT FOR THE INSTA

Modern weddings are keen to embrace high end, nostalgic experiences. Couples desire thoughtfully designed elements for guests, especially with every moment an opportunity of documentation for the Instagram experience. Whether living in the moment or reminiscing later (hopefully by the help of an amazing professional photographer), we see comfort and community as two heavily celebrated trends. Successful parties no longer require extreme formalities. Truly, the key to capturing unforgettable moments for guests is leaving room for imagination and extreme personalization. Below are the top three experiences to include in your Spring wedding or event, plus which luxury pieces grant you the opportunity to express your personal style.

UNIQUE GRAZING STATIONS

Grazing stations have taken off in recent years, with tables of beautiful food serving as the creative force behind a functional dining experience. This makes perfect sense to us, as food draws us to not just gather, but linger longer with loved ones before forced back to reality. Thoughtfully placed personalized stations for desserts, small bites, and drinks celebrate the shared experience while allowing room-to-roam for a guest list of any size. This is the moment to share a nostalgic childhood treat, show off foodie knowledge, or embrace a cultural recipe. Accentuate the wow factor by mixing in salad and bread plates from different china collections for kabobs, salads, sauces, soups, and breads. Vintage China and Blue + White China are forever a mainstay for a Southern celebration. A trend taking flight is nature inspired couture pieces for the fashion forward bride (our Christian Lacroix Butterfly Parade is a perfect accent for such a feast). However, if a minimalist approach matches your style, the Coupe China collections offer earthy, matte shades made for showcasing wonderful food. Gen Z loves affordable and approachable luxury while Millennials still love couture flair. Fortunately, we can accommodate both, and we say the kids are alright.

BRANDED BEVERAGES

It’s always fun to toast a happy couple with a liquid concoction paying homage to their roots. Bonus points for a personalized name and unique stemware that packs a punch for such a special statement. We adore the Duchess Goblets and Kim Seybert Helix Goblet for a luxurious element guests always appreciate. Whatever your vibe, we have a glass to sip in style. Here’s a cheat sheet of themes and glassware to keep handy once you settle on your cocktail of choice.

Gatsby: Champagne Coup, Etched Amber // Classic: Gold Floral Lace, Signature Gold and Platinum // Game of Thrones: Silver Wine Goblet // Sophisticated: Silhouette // Modern: Mikasa Smoke Glassware, Kim Seybert Helix // Traditional: Camila Blue Rim Old Fashioned, Moscow Mule Copper Mug // Viva la Mexico: Paloma Tumbler // Ballroom: Silver Bella, Elise Cut Crystal // Wine Enthusiast: Extreme Riedel // Playful: Chloe, Carnival // Dallas Dynasty: Godinger Amber Water Goblet // Moody: Onyx, Stella // Mountains + Desert Vibes: Avery, Stemless Color Champagne Flutes (reminiscent of a pastel sunset)

ELEVATED SEATING

We’ve said it before, but it’s worth the repeat: A successful chair elevates the atmosphere of a room. A strikingly modern and artful element is a round or mixed chair layout during the ceremony. This adds warmth to a setting regardless of guest count. Image four below showcases the Clear Villa Ballroom chair with this idea in mind. The circular theme brings an intimacy not always found in a ballroom setting. Likewise, image eleven showcases various table sizes to accentuate warmth and style. The curved allure of a Wishbone or Bentwood chair is also a diverse, attractive look. (We’ve waxed poetic about this duo here). Ranch style vibes more your thing? A barn bench brings guests closer, and added bonus, makes room for a higher guest count. Looking for modern magic? The Mila’s velvety luxurious vibe offers a comfortable yet sophisticated style that matches the well-heeled, wheels up kind of guest list.

EXPRESS YOURSELF

Since the future is about you, tell us where you see trends heading in this ever-evolving landscape. We’d love to help translate your ideas to tabletop with our truly one-of-a-kind collections. Not in Dallas? Not to worry. We travel nationwide.
