On the Table: Italian Elegance

Celebrate the seasonal transitions by tables set with the glorious artistry of Ginori Oriente Italica and Arte Italica.

THE BEAUTY OF LATE SUMMER

Before we rush into Fall, let us take a collective deep breath. In the Chinese calendar, there is an extra season that blooms between the spaces of late summer and autumn. Late summer, or long summer as she is also called, is the final act of September--that beautiful in-between that might feel heavier if we didn't pause, reflect, and trust the process taking place.

This liminal season is marked by long sunsets, blooming sage, and copper-headed sunflowers. All of these seasonal shades begin to creep in right before our eyes, asking the deeper questions of us all. What should we lay to rest in order to feel the promise of Autumn's abundance? This is our chance to acknowledge what must be let go to see August's bright greens, yellows, and reds turn towards more mature hues of pear, copper, gold, and fuschia.

If you need a little inspo to embrace this transformative window, might we humbly suggest the creative act of setting the table? This golden opportunity has worked wonders for many a hidden artist. And make no mistake, Late Summer is THAT girl. You know, the one that asks you to celebrate the in-betweens so you can restore beauty around the table again.

SET THE TONE WITH ITALIAN ELEGANCE

The inspiration behind this blog came by way of a beautiful September bride, who wanted earthy tones and terra cotta textures mixed with sophisticated porcelain and fine china for her Italian-influenced Tulsa wedding. Talk about a woman after our own hearts! Planner Annie Brady Design came to us for the perfect mix of pattern and play to set the tone for an evening of tradition, sophisticated ease, and pure delight.

Ginori and Arte Italica, - two iconic Italian tableware collections, were our go-to with their imaginative shades and handcrafted designs. They have been known for an instant wow factor alone, but when paired with other expressive colors, are simply sublime. The distinct Pervinca blue charger and Vermiglio dinner plate played into the honey amber glaze of our Carrie Cosmo and Wineglass Collections while the Arte Italica Robins Egg Blue Charger and Rose Toile China Collections appealed to the terra-cotta pots spilling with seasonal florals, welcoming guests to the outdoor wedding reception. We consider this a winsome palette that would work well in any season, but we can't help but especially love its subdued elegance in the warmest months.
