You are cordially invited to our first ever P.O.S.H. Designer Series. We’re celebrating the beauty of gracious entertaining with the well-considered tabletop, from china and cutlery to personal touches from the names to know in event design. Visit digitally on our website to find a new designer featured every three weeks, or experience them all first-hand with a scheduled visit to our showroom now through the end of May.
Our moments around the table are always intimate, no matter the size of the party. Even if the only guests are family and friends who don’t need impressing, an elegantly composed tabletop nostalgically elevates the experience and allows everyone to relax–something we all need in the monotony of forced isolation. We are born china collectors, but the added beauty of rentals allows an opportunity to express every side of our personality or embrace a theme. To celebrate the transformative power of tabletops, we called in local event design experts (who also happen to be preeminent hosts themselves) to handpick their favorite rentals for a tablescape that lightheartedly speaks to this moment. Whatever the occasion, these tastemakers have perfected the art of mixing exceptionally styled tablescapes for clients from Dallas to Italy, and everywhere in between. We ADORE the designs–tablescapes that impress not just because they’re gorgeous, but because you feel the fun and passion in the selections. They will transform you into a place and time. Enjoy. P.S. A very special shoutout to Tamytha Cameron Photography, who always captures every layer to perfection.
NAME TO KNOW: SOCIAL LLAMA EVENTS
If fun is on the menu, Macy Pulliam and Social Llama Events will make sure your event doesn’t fall flat. In fact, a high level of interactive amusement and dimensions is what sets this event design team apart from the pack. She’s not planning your grandmother’s garden party. You know what we’re talking about: Colorful tapered candle centerpieces, confetti explosions, fresh takes on bold palettes, and fanciful yet equally engaging event designs. It’s the intuitive ability to pick up on modern trends layered atop a socially Southern approach to hospitality that has clients calling for that fresh spark Macy brings to the table. Every Social Llama design showcases a customized approach that truly allows for the client’s personalities to shine through. From creative custom menus (definitely a calling card!) to the rapturous rainbow of color woven into each design, these party animals know how to get wild (with meticulous organization) and leave the world just a little bit happier. Macy’s work isn’t just place settings and champagne walls. Also of note are her imaginative installations at The Shops at Park Lane and The Virgin Hotel, which created a whimsical and relevant sense of community in a weird year that tested our ability to stay connected. Llama just say, we think you’re pretty fab, Macy. We can’t wait to see what the Social Llama pack conjures up this year, but let’s dive into this dynamic tablescape that sets our hearts aflutter.
TABLE TALK
First things first, tell us a bit about yourself for someone who may not be familiar.
Social Llama Events is an experiential event design and planning company on a mission to BE LOUD in everything we do.
How do you let a table tell a story?
We give every piece it's time to shine. Each view of the table should be a little bit different, showcasing each item.
What inspired this design?
It was our mission to incorporate two of the most eye-catching items in the P.O.S.H. showroom–the Christian Lacroix Butterfly Parade Charger and the layered Plumage Pink Overlay with Shantung Linen. At first glance, these two would not pair together, so it was a fun challenge to create a cohesive tablescape with the Social Llama spin and make it work. [Side note: IT DID!]
What is your favorite rental piece on this table and why?
The purple stemless champagne flutes are the star–what a unique statement piece for the table!
Who would you want to bring to this table?
My team: We all deserve a nice dinner out.
READY FOR THE CLOSE UP
Tablescape Vibe: Bon vivant with an eclectic vibe.
Palette: Dimensional, bold Spring colors.
Conversation Piece: The Christian Lacroix Butterfly Parade Charger is one of our favorite whimsical touches, but we agree with Macy. The stemless champagne flute makes sipping bubbly that much more fun.
Table and Chair: Any social animal wants a round table for a politely rowdy good time, y’all. Of course, the addition of the widely popular Black Bentwood Chair is a must. The classic No.14 chair is at once timeless while encouraging modern ease.
Dress Up: Go big or go home. We’re just taking note of Macy’s personal style here. Give us all of the pattern plays, feathers, and big sleeves to match our big smiles when sharing this table with friends.
