“Beautiful forms are new ideas to the world.”
The anatomy behind any tablescape is to fix our eyes on beauty while allowing for a long evening to unfold. A great seat is a must. A beautiful charger and dinner plate is a given. But it is a nod to the Fernando Pessoa quote above that the form and function of flatware, napkins, and stemware fixes our eyes from afar while giving comfort to the hand up close. In our modern world, we also give attention to peace of mind for guests without overlooking the beautiful details.
Presentation is Everything
One of our favorite nods to traditional tabletop and a sanitization must for guests today is napkin folding. Place setting one and three to the left modernizes an artful approach to the Buffet Server napkin and the Tuxedo Fold. We also love option two, where cutlery has a sleek chance to peek through with a unique gesture of the ends of our Cutipol flatware. So chic and modern. While easy on the eyes, it still follows the most stringent sanitary guidelines. (Note: P.O.S.H. will even go a step further upon request to individually wrap each item of cutlery or stemware.)
You can also linger longer with a customized glass topper on each stemware, to be removed right before each pour. This is a nice touch before the wine flows freely and toasts begin. We love the example by Stamped Paper Co with Kristin Rose Events (image four and five). The presentation quality is stellar, as is the creativity. The hardest part will be deciding which region of wine for the tasting rather than how to keep guests feeling at ease.
Behind the Scenes Magic
We’ve said it once, and we will say it again: RENT! Take some of the load off of your plate with renting china, chairs, and serving pieces to elevate the everyday from ordinary to extraordinary. The best part of the P.O.S.H. experience is the most obvious–no clean up! Enjoy the evening without doing dishes. Just scrape, rack, and stack your china plate and dish rentals at a good drop-off point for contactless curbside pickup. If you have Covid-related questions, we have a thorough process for your peace of mind during these transitional times.
