Warming Up to the 2025 Pantone Color of the Year

Connection, Comfort, Harmony: Mocha Mouse reflects the global desire for a delectably distinct sentiment.

Hungry for the next trend? Mocha Mouse brings the cultural obsession with fashion, Espresso martinis, and sensual food talk to the table. And, of course, we have a niche place setting just for that.

REFLECT A COLLECTIVE DESIRE

Underpinned by our desire for everyday pleasures, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse expresses a level of thoughtful indulgence. Sophisticated and lush, yet at the same time an unpretentious classic, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse extends our perceptions of the browns from being humble and grounded to embrace aspirational and luxe.
Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director Pantone Color Institute

If you have paid any amount of attention to the trends that abound from TikTok to whatever feed you are perusing at this moment, you have undoubtedly noticed food is almost always at the forefront of the latest aesthetic. Turns out that what we eat is not only the way to our hearts but also our collective way of living. Think about it: We were big subscribers to the philosophy of Tomato Girl Summer, and now, I guess all of those Espresso Martinis have roasted us into the mystical hues of Mocha Mouse madness. And while “More is More” is our favorite motto, “Never Say Never” clocks in at a close second place. Needless to say, while everyone isn't on board with this colorful exchange just yet, we think they will come around to the dark side just in time for your next dinner party or event. And, thankfully, there is a niche place setting to warm up these deep-rooted gastronomical obsessions on your tablescape.

A NEW TONE FOR 2025

For Pantone Color of the Year 2025, we look to a mellow brown hue whose inherent richness and sensorial and comforting warmth extends further into our desire for comfort, and the indulgence of simple pleasures that we can gift and share with others.
Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute

We are big supporters of creating the beauty you wish to see in the world, and this sounds like the perfect way to uncover, redefine, and revel in your own personal style. So while the world is incredibly chaotic most of the time, the reminder here is to create intimate moments of luxury so we not only survive–but thrive. And what better way to share your spirit than through the cherished art of setting the table? Our sentiment exactly!

The idea behind Mocha Mouse isn't just to go hard on dark brown. It's to personify your place setting with what that means to you. And we all know we contain multitudes. Do you begin by dipping your toes in Ivory after a Winter White? Warm up the hues as the year progresses and see what new creative palettes you can discover. Play is the way forward, friends.

IT’S NOT A COLOR, IT’S A FEELING

“With its sophisticated, earthy elegance, PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse can stand alone or serve as a versatile foundation, enhancing a wide range of palettes and applications—from minimalist to richly detailed designs—across all color-focused industries.

PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse serves as a versatile shade with inherent sophistication and earthy refinement. Use this rich hue to imbue sensorial richness into both your everyday and event tablescape styles. We especially loved the Pantone Palettes used to convey a distinct mood in each curated experience. From Cannoli Cream and Safari to Baltic Amber and Chocolate Martini, there is a uniquely delicious range of brown hues and nuanced contrasts in any season for any personal party, wedding, or industry event.

ALLURING EXAMPLES IN THE WILD
